Largest Nativity Scene in Portugal

Since our trip to Spain was canceled due to Covid restrictions, we took a trip to Vila Real Santo Antonio, which is in Portugal but right on the Spanish border. The town boasts of the largest "presepio" or nativity scene in all of Portugal. Nativity scenes are quite a tradition in Portugal, and most cities, including Tavira, and many homes have at least a small one. In this one in Vila Real, there were lots of sounds and moving/flying parts, and it really was quite wonderful, if a little over the top!

Wonderful pictures you guys. Really enjoyed them. When we go to Puerto Vallarta, MX in Dec every year, which we did this past month, we always marvel at how much more the commercial community decorates, particularly w lights, than we do here in US.
